Our Parish Online Story: St Catherine

Our Parish Online Story: St Catherine

In this story we are following St Catherine's Parish Council which is located on the outskirts of Bath.

Throughout this year we'll be following a number of Parish Councils as they document how they are using Parish Online. This should be really useful to help show the different ideas and reasons for using Parish Online and give you the confidence to make better use of your subscription.

A Brief overview:

St.Catherine is perhaps one off the smallest English Parishes constituted as a Parish Meeting. Part of Bath and North East Somerset the parish borders with Wiltshire and South Gloucestershire and is set in largely unspoilt and rural Cotswold landscape. The population is small, made up of approximately 26 dwellings with a high proportion of listed period properties all set in the protection of the AONB. As a community it has come late to local authority planning processes but is now recognising the benefit of drawing up local priorities with - significantly - a focus on conservation and stewardship rather than development. The very first step has been to map the area using Parish Online to produce a variety of layers to reflect particular areas of interest to the local community
